While you are going to buy a laptop consider some points and ask questions to yourself. i) Do you really need a laptop? ii) How much is your budget? iii) What hardware and software you need for your work? You need portable productivity, media and mobile gaming that why you are trying to buy a laptop. PROCESSOR SPEED

The processors are available ion two brands 1) Intel and 2) AMD. Intel process is very useful and is being used in Apple?s Macintosh computers also. Single processor has dual core processing and the quad-core processors have four processing cores. Memory plays a key role in speed and other task to be completed by laptop. It allows the computer to process information from different programs at once and can run the different programs at a time. Memory with 2GB or more is good and it also depends on the software you need. If you want to have 32-bit operating system like Windows XP, Vista & MAC OS X then it is advised to go for 3.5GB of memory. For 64-bit system you need 8GB memory.

SCREEN SIZE & RESOLUTION

Screen size and resolution are also one of the important factors. Screen sizes vary with the nature and taste. Some of the large screen also have small font which needs to be adjusted. Price f laptop increases with larger screen.

Resolution depends of the pixels per squares on the screen. Larger screen have higher resolutions. Laptop has Native Resolution which is a default resolution.

STORAGE

If you want to play games, store your data and edit your video or audio then the hard drive of laptop must be 5400 or 7200RPM drive. Faster hard drive will impact the battery life also.

External hard drive can be used for laptop also. You can use the external drive and two different operating systems i.e. Linux and Windows for the laptop.

With different ways laptops are connecting us with the world. It has now build-in wireless networking. You can connect the laptop with Ethernet port ? RJ45 to connect locally via CAT5 cable.

Wireless networking is possible with the built in network cards of 802.11b or 802.11g. For faster and latest connections 802.11n network cared is being used.

Connectivity through Bluetooth allows wireless peripherals. Bluetooth can work up to 30 feet.

This is very important for your safety of laptop. It protect the laptop and easy to carry the laptop from one place to other. You can connect the mobile printer to take the print even on the road.

Also invest in the flash memory card to backup to save the important files or have and external hard drive. Consider these entire things in the laptop cost.

PC vs. Mac

PC vs. Mac, these are two operating systems. It is only your preference whether you want PC or Mac. Mac is easy to use while PC laptops are different and complicated programs.

So it is useful to have Macs due to the operating system but with PC laptops you have buy extra software. It is better to use lightweight laptops.
